The show Rising Sun represents Otto’s latest perspective on the increasingly challenging times artists face in a city undergoing very apparent transition, and depicts a new chapter that hopes for a brighter future. Competing forces, reinvention, and renewal play a role, and are all connected to a larger story of survival. This collection builds on his last body of work, Rising Tides, which centered around the concept that turbulent times invoke a need to make peace through acceptance.
