All That Remains @ Fabric8 / SF

September 5th, 2011 · Uncategorized

In line with my first ever parklet installation, I have curated a show at Fabric8 that opens this Saturday. It’s a 5-person group show loosely themed around the use of recycled materials. A nice write up about the show, here. Stop on by. Jam session to follow.

Parklet — part 3

Recently relocated the parklet installation from the studio to the location at Fabric8 where it will remain for 6 months. This project was a huge undertaking, but nothing beats the rewarding feeling in the end of seeing it in place and having people interact with it. Come through this weekend to celebrate its grand debut.

Parklet — part 2

August 26th, 2011 · Uncategorized

Almost to the finish line. Last night I completed the construction of the 20 foot Parklet I have been commissioned to build by Fabric8 in the Mission. There were times when I felt this piece was a little beyond my wood working skill level, but I pulled it off and I am beyond excited to see this thing finally installed. The day to relocate and install this beast has been delayed somewhat as we await the steel platform to be set in place. I will let you all know as we know when that day is confirmed as there will be a small celebration to shortly follow.

Parklet — part 1

Currently building out a huge outdoor sculpture for Fabric8 in the Mission District. It’s one of many parklet’s being constructed in the San Francisco streets, but the first that is designed and fabricated by an artist. On top of that, as I so often do, I will complete this beast entirely with reclaimed materials. Be on the lookout for updates and opening party info in the coming weeks.

I have recently decided to take a break from gallery exhibitions for a determined length of time to focus on collaborative projects and new directions in my work, but before I do…I thought it would be good to do one last show in the city I call home. On Saturday August 6th, I will be exhibiting a few new pieces and other recent work in what we are calling the Project Room at White Walls Gallery.

Opens: Saturday August 6th @ 7pm
