Currently in editing phase of my first ever (very) short film. It’s a stop-motion piece about the cycle of life, and if there’s one thing I have learned from all this…film production is extremely challenging and very time consuming — a true labor of love. I have been fortunate to have had the creative collaboration and support from my peers, Paul J Encinas and Ryan Louie who have been working along side me with this project to make it go above and beyond all of our expectations. Enjoy these behind the scene shots from production courtesy of Ryan.

The film will debut at my next show, Permaculture at Gallery Neurotitan in Berlin and then online in select locations. Details TBA.
I just sent my artwork to Berlin meanwhile finishing up a short film piece for my next show, Permaculture at Neurotitan Gallery. SF/NY resident, Jessica Wallen is curating a street art installation-based show with a focus on the environment and sustainability. Rad!

I have been busily working on first ever short film. It will be a stop-motion piece depicting the creation, life, and death of one of my house characters tentatively titled, Life Cycles. It will debut at my next show in Berlin on July 8th. Still figuring out how to release it to the public around that time, but stay tuned for the details. Sneak peeks below.

So if you missed it…you missed out — the one-day Open Studios show is all done. The event took some serious work to pull off, but was worth it in the end. Thanks to all who came through and to Grown Kids Radio, G&S Wines, and Gallo Giro Taco Truck for keeping people entertained.
For those of you just tuning in, a warehouse space opened up in my studio building and immediately I though how cool it would be to do something with the unused space. Two weeks later I rolled open the front doors to host my very own Open Studios.

Tired. Fatigue. You name it…that’s me right now. I have been working 12 hour days for the past week to turn a temporarily unused warehouse space in my studio building into the perfect place for this weekends Open Studios event.
A true labor of love. Come through anytime between 11am – 7pm to join the fun. Gallo Giro taco truck parked out front, refreshments (wine provided by G&S Wines), and music provided by Grown Kids Radio. Guaranteed good times.

See ya tomorrow!
Hey everyone. BIG news! I will be hosting an Open Studios event in 2 weeks. So come hang out, see my work in person, and maybe even leave with something special.

I will have past and present artwork, prints, and other projects on display and available for purchase. To keep it proper, there will be music and beer provided with a taco truck right outside! So please roll through to say hello as I will be working day and night for the next 2 weeks to make this the best open studios ever.
My first ever permanent installation is complete. Here are some photos of finished piece in it’s final resting place. View full photo set here.

the thinking chair

The piece is my gift to the Recology Sculpture Garden and all the materials to create it were rescued from going to the landfill. The installation serves as a reminder to myself and others to not criticize others unless you’re prepared to have that same criticism thrown right back at you. The concept is borrowed from the quote “people who live in glass houses should not throw stones” as well as the vulnerability I often feel since stepping out to live and create in the judgment of the public eye. Even though this is a permanent piece, I believe that all things in life are temporary, so I have specified to not have any plant growth cut back to allow the surrounding environment to interact with the house and eventually take it back to the earth it was born form.
Tours of Recology happen every 4th Saturday of the month. My piece is just one of many amazing things you will come across during your informative walk of the facility most people have no idea exists. Call Micah to get on the list (415) 760-9624.
