a friend till the end.

December 7th, 2009 · 7 Comments · Uncategorized

Dealing with the pain of a loss is never easy and over the weekend I had to say goodbye to my furry little friend, Patches. I have known her for more than half my life and nothing came between the bond we shared. I was there for her birth and never thought at that time I would be there for her passing. She was like a daughter to me and a best-friend that was always there when I needed someone who understood me most. I will never forget her and I owe a large part of my compassion from knowing her. Anyone who has ever met Patches would agree she was one of the sweetest cats around.

So long old friend. You will be missed.

She was a beauty. So sorry for your loss. Pets are definately family members to the fullest extent.

As Patches’ first “mom,” I have been thankful that she has been there for you these past few years. We all have many many sweet and also funny memories of our little sweetie. She’ll always be in our hearts.

It makes me very sad farewell to your friend …
Courage and strength, remember the good times, that certainly are many and continues, to the people we are fortunate wadding animals, because they reward us with their love and make us better.
    A hug from Spain.

What a whirlwind. I found you because Mr. Purty tweeted to you about how you inspire him. Then I found your site, and you inspire me too. Then I clicked to your blog and began reading. Then your post about Ms. Patches got me all choked up. I’m so sorry to hear that you had to experience her loss, but glad that you got to share so much with her while she was here. I’ve e-known you for 4 minutes and already want to give you a hug.

    Keep up the wonderful work.

This is a moving post, Erik. I feel your loss and I know her memory will live on forever. Even though they never met, Elvis and Patches are hanging out together, sleeping the night away… I love you my brotha…
